Atelier Aquatic  Drawing inspiration from life in the Ocean, to life on Earth

Positive and Negative Imprint
Art Education project on the theme of positive and negative shapes . We explored the technique of Screen Printing using paper stencils of the silhouettes of endangered sea creatures. We cut out the paper stencil so we had a positive and negative shape. We linked the positive attributes of animals and negative effects of humans to the theme of Endangered animals that may become extinct in our life time unless human habits change. We looked at the positive of the animal and negative of the threat. The theme is emphasised by the positive and negative printing effect we will use.

We learnt about:
  • Screen printing
  • How to make simple paper stencils using the silhouettes of images
  • Using the silhouette of an image we can effectively get 2 designs from 1 paper cut
  • Different creatures who live in the sea and what makes them special
  • How we can conserve, protect and regenerate life in the Sea
  • How we make money from the sea through eco-system services such as tourism, food and transport
  • How we can use recycled materials to make Art

Feedback

"What you did here was so AMAZING, you were such a good teachers, educators and a very resourceful team. Thank you for having you and the team here doing a wonderful projects. It helps us to be more knowledgeable and responsible to our MOTHER EARTH. You let kids expressed their feelings about the environment through painting. You taught people how to protect marine lives and to preserve it. What you have done here in Port Barton was highly appreciated. No words can say how much we love your artwork. Our team would like to express our deepest gratitude for sharing your knowledge about marine conservation and everything. We wish you all best Anita and the team, good health and a happy life. Thanks to Atelier Aquatic"

“This is one of the most unforgettable experiences in my life. My classmates realised the importance of the sea and its ecosystem and realized the effects of their wrongdoings. The best thing we can do is to share our knowledge,”
