Every day 500,000,000 plastic straws are used and thrown away everyday in the U.S alone.
Ocean Conservancy ranks straws as the #5 most found litter item on beaches. They're non-recyclable, so they wind up in landfills, litter streets and add to the estimated 8.5 million metric tons of plastic debris in oceans annually.

TAKE ACTION

1: Make a personal commitment to say "no" to plastic straws. Whenever ordering a drink, politely request “no straw, please.” Encourage your friends and family to take the pledge, too!
You've got more power than you think. Want to take your impact even further? Use your own paper, glass, bamboo, or stainless steel straw instead, and start a conversation.
2: Reach out to some local eateries in your neighborhood or town and ask them to change their protocol to only serve straws upon request. Offer the Atelier Aquatic Sticker
3: Encourage those eateries to make a change to non-plastic straw options – like paper, glass, or stainless steel, bamboo– if diners do request a straw.

Feedback

"What you did here was so AMAZING, you were such a good teachers, educators and a very resourceful team. Thank you for having you and the team here doing a wonderful projects. It helps us to be more knowledgeable and responsible to our MOTHER EARTH. You let kids expressed their feelings about the environment through painting. You taught people how to protect marine lives and to preserve it. What you have done here in Port Barton was highly appreciated. No words can say how much we love your artwork. Our team would like to express our deepest gratitude for sharing your knowledge about marine conservation and everything. We wish you all best Anita and the team, good health and a happy life. Thanks to Atelier Aquatic"

“This is one of the most unforgettable experiences in my life. My classmates realised the importance of the sea and its ecosystem and realized the effects of their wrongdoings. The best thing we can do is to share our knowledge,”
– A student after a Sea Adventure School trip.
